Let's Talk

NHS unions are leading this campaign to help inspire staff and managers across the health service to start a conversation about flexible working and find the flex that works for them.

A dedicated campaign resource website has been established to support staff and help members find out more about flexible working rights, different options, and how people are finding the joy of flex in the NHS right now.

We Make the NHS

Our members are frustrated with the NHS Pay Review Body (PRB) process which has failed to deliver for NHS workers in successive pay rounds. As a result, we alongside some other health unions, have refused to engage with the PRB until a significant reform of the process has taken place, including reassurances that it is truly acting independently of Government.

Have Your Say on Your Pay

Negotiations between us and employers within the NJC framework involve discussions on pay, terms and conditions for local government and other related employees. These negotiations often aim to address issues such as fair wages, working conditions, and benefits for workers in the public sector.

Local Government

Despite the Government’s best efforts to undervalue our key workers, each year we campaign for a properly funded pay rise and improved terms and conditions for all local government workers. Whether supporting our children in schools, collecting waste to maintain our streets, or working diligently in the local council to bring new ideas and improvements to the region, we are the union for you!

Sick of SSP

Our Sick of SSP campaign aims to address the inadequacies of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) in the UK. SSP often falls short of providing sufficient income for care workers to cover their basic living expenses during periods of sickness absence.

Taking Care of You

Our domiciliary care campaign is calling on employers in the care sector to support our charter and implement the following practices:

  1. Make time for people!

We need a person-centred approach to deliver holistic support – and an end to demoralising minute-by-minute measurements. Domiciliary care is the only public service commissioned by the stopwatch.  No other publicly funded service is commissioned or measured in this way.
